Ryan Keller is an associate at Duarte Entertainment & Media Law and provides strategic legal advice to clients in the areas of film, television, video games, and online media. His clients include producers, writers, directors, actors, musicians, managers, visual artists, social media personalities, YouTubers, and other media entrepreneurs.
Mr. Keller brings to his practice as an entertainment lawyer over 15 years of experience in the production of films, digital media, and television. His ongoing work as a director and producer has been featured on various platforms worldwide and has garnered award nominations from the Banff World Media Festival, Directors Guild of Canada, and Canadian Comedy Awards.
Prior to joining Duarte Entertainment & Media Law, Mr. Keller completed his Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School. While at Osgoode, he was a member of the Harold Fox Intellectual Property Moot team and he co-won the Gordon Henderson award for Best Factum. His writing in the area of copyright and media law was published in the Intellectual Property Law Journal. Upon graduation, he worked in business affairs at a Canadian broadcaster and articled at a downtown litigation boutique.
Mr. Keller is a voting member of the Canadian Academy of Cinema and Television and the Vice-Chair of the Executive of the Ontario Bar Association - Entertainment, Media, and Communication Law Section. He is a past director and current member of the Independent Web Creators of Canada (IWCC) and a frequent speaker on the increasingly complex legal issues facing digital creators.
